| Acadia
Throughout history, people have come to
the craggy and sometimes mountainous coast of Maine. The
land that eventually became Acadia National Park, the
first park east of the Mississippi River, was donated
by early 20th century visionaries that were awed by the
beauty and diversity here. Acadia boasts the tallest mountain
on the U.S. Atlantic coast and is home to many species
of flora and fauna. Visitors love to hike the granite
peaks, bike old carriage roads, relax and enjoy the beautiful
landscapes. |

Gold
Rush
Follow
your dreams of gold but don’t sell the farm to see
Alaska. In 1897, thousands did just that in the hopes
of easing their woes of economic depression. Many braved
the icy passes to reach the Canadian interior only to
find they had been beaten by the prospectors who got there
first. Some struck gold but as you can imagine most returned
home with nothing but a rich experience. |
